Thank you, ladies.  Grin

This one was an experiment for me.  I explained to my friend, who asked me to do this box, that there are things glass won't do--you can't usually "cut out" a piece in the middle of a sheet of glass.  (It can be done, but it requires endless patience and lots and lots of practice on scrap glass before you'd want to risk the "real" glass.)  So features on people -- or animals, for that matter -- require that you add cut lines.  Betty Boop is one of those characters that would suffer from any extra lines in her face.  I decided to see if her eyebrows and lashes could be fused in a kiln instead of cut.  I could have painted them on, but I thought that would detract from the look I wanted to create.  (I did paint those features on the inside of the box--couldn't fuse on both sides of the glass.)

The other difficulty with this box was that the intricate cuts to accomodate her curls had to be done with a glass saw and had to be very precise.  I didn't manage that as well as I'd hoped, but I still think the box turned out really well.  Grin

Yes, I love lampworking--I did a workshop over the summer in lampworking, but just don't have the space for it in my house and trying to find space to rent is expensive.  Sad

So when are we going to see some pix of your jewelry, CP?  Wink

Thank you, CP!  I can't seem to capture the sparkly look in the photos, and of course the window screen is in the background, but it's lovely with the light shining thru it!  Smiley

Thank you, ladies!  Smiley

I finished another very large panel last week that has been waiting at the glass studio to be framed.  I hope I'll be able to bring it home tomorrow.

I hope I'll be able to bring it home tomorrow.

... and I did.  This is adapted from one of my daughter's recital photos, from back when she was dancing.  The colors don't show quite as well in the pic as I'd hoped--her dress is lavender (with darker purple representing folds and shadows), and most of the clear glass is iridized, so it has sort of a subtle rainbow of colors.
