Eczema and Facials....

Hey people,
This is more of a question. Before I developed contact eczema during the summer months, I would get facials every 2-3 months to unclog pores around my nose, chin and other places. Basically, facials are good for your face! However, since I've developed eczema around my collarbone area for the first time in my life, will I still be able to get facials? The salon I usually attend do their facials from the shoulders to the face. Has anyone had any reactions to facials? Or I'm just overreacting and I will be fine? I've just never had to deal with eczema in my life until now. I want to prepare for the worst. To not have facials will be seriously depressing to me.

I honestly don't know how eczema would react to a facial or the products they use. I guess the only way to really find out is to try it, but to be prepared that there might be not pleasant reactions to it.

I know I was scared when I received my first facial because I use prescriptions (soap and lotion) on my face. After the facial, my skin looked SO GOOD (you wouldn't believe how many whiteheads, etc. they got) and nothing happened. I had no reactions either. But that was before I even developed eczema.
Let's just hope nothing will happen to me this time.

Hi michsm2
I would say, when you next go for a facial, mention your eczema to the beautician and ask if they have any special lotions for sensitive skins. If you did have a reaction you could always ask them to avoid your collarbone area the next time.
Best of luck and I hope you can still enjoy your facials.
