Hi Betty,

Welcome to the boards.  Sorry to hear that you still don't have a correct diagnosis yet.  I will keep my fingers crossed that the dried cherries help some.

Today is day six and I'm still in pain. I guess the dried cherries aren't working. I still have another bag of them to go. I'm beginning to feel as if this pain is permanent. Only one more week to see the rheum doctor.  I guess the shark's tooth festival is out this weekend cause there is a lot of walking involved. I can work on crafts at home. See Ya!!   Betty

I am so sorry to hear that you are still having pain.  I wanted to tell you to call the Rheumatologist everyday to see if anyone cancelled their appt.  Sometimes, even though they say they will call.  They don't!!!  Good Luck at your appt. Keep us posted on what you find out.

Best Wishes,  Hug

Hi Everyone, The knee pain isn't as bad as it has been and since I've been putting barbasol shaving cream in the tube on my elbows the psorasis is healing. I put it on once a day at work.  I don't know if the cherries lessened the pain or this bout is starting to end. I'm still eating the dried cherries every night. 2 more days til my doctor appt. I'll keep everyine posted. Thanks, Betty

I went to the arthritis doctor today and I have psoriatric arthritis. She wanted to put me on a medicine, I can't remember the name, that after 1 year I will need a liver biopsy to see if any damage has been done. I declined the offer but she took blood to check my liver and kidneys then in 1 week I go back to get a rx for sulfasalazrine. I don't want to have to have a liver transplant or dialysis because I took a toxic medicine. I showed her the tube of barbasol shaving  cream in the tube and how my elbows were healing up. I got the handicapped sticker info for my truck as she said this is a permanent condition. I'm only 56 and I wonder if I will be unable to walk in a few years. The great dane sure misses our evening walks. The doctor also said ther medicine sometimes makes people sick. I was so afraid when I went into her office my blood pressure was 182 over 100. I was actually shaking. Now to get a plan to fight this thing. Any help or info would be appreciated. Thanks, Betty Sorry about the rambling-I'm scared.

Hi Everyone, I go to the doctor Wed morning and she is going to talk to me about taking sulfasalazine. I don't know what the side effects are except nausea. I can hardly walk and every step is painful. It feels like my right knee is rubbing bone on bone. I tried crutches but talk about sore armpits. I limp around like I stepped in dog crap and still have it on my foot. When will this nightmare be over? Will the pill be the miracle cure I'm looking for or will I spend the day throwing up? The next step is enbrel shots if this doesn't work. Thanks for letting me rant, Betty

Hi Everyone, I took the drug one a day for 5 days then one in AM and one in PM for 5 days and when I took 2 in AM by that afternoon I had a terrible headache and was very nauseated. That was 2 days ago on Sat and its Mon almost 5 PM and I'm still very sick but the headache is gone. I  called the Dr and she said to stop the medicine. The only good thing is the joint pain is gone. I go to the Dr on Wed and she said we would try something else. I'm going to ask if I can continue taking one in AM and one in PM. I am so afraid of the pain coming back. I'll write more after the Dr appt. Thanks, Betty

Good News, I went to the dr today and she said I might of had a 24 hour stomach flu because the reaction to the medicine will not give you a fever. I am back on 2 in the AM and 2 in the PM. I also have a prescription for prednisine 5 mg a day for the pain that is coming back and hydrocholothiazide because my right leg is swelling up, that's the knee and ankle that hurts. Will this ever end.  i don't feel like I'm alone in all of this as I have all of my forum friends helping me thry this. Thanks Everyone, Betty in Florida

Betty,

I am so glad that you are not alone in this too ( you have us!)
That is such a relief that you were able to start the medicine again.  I really hope it was just a virus & you are able to continue your treatment plan.  You deserve to be well & we are all thinking of you.  Good Luck.
