rubi,

Welcome to Skincell!     Hi there Hi there

The local anesthetic that is given by injection is the only uncomfortable part of a biopsy.  The actual biopsy that you have done will not hurt.  The most you should feel is a tugging sensation.
Good Luck with the biopsy & please let us know the results when you get them.

Thanks a lot to all of you,I will let you know when I get the results from the biopsi.I'm glad I found you,I hope we all get better soon from whatever we suffer. Also another question,I have read that a reason for PLEVA could be eighter HIV or Toxoplasma virus,I have a cat and I would like to know if you have heard of such a thing,HIV or Toxoplasma relation to PLEVA? Huh

I just did a quick search and found quite a few links that indicate a possible connection between PLEVA and toxoplasmosis.  Here's one:

Ruby,
Hey welcome to skin cell! I also have Pleva and I have never heard of it being related to HIV.  I have had several blood tests and they all say I'm healthy.  I don't think there is no known cause of Pleva and really no known cure  Undecided  I have had pleva for a long time now, it becomes more bearable and less active with time. Wink  I haven't went to the doctor in a long time over my Pleva, I guess I've given up hope and just gotten use to it.  But I really hope they help you with the biopsy, let me know how everything turns out.
Good Luck  Cheesy

Again thank you very much,I live away from my family(I'm originally from Turkey) and my husband doesn't take my PELVA very seriously,I just want you to know that your responses mean a lot to me.I feel better than yesterday.I have an appointment with my derm on monday and he will tell me when to get biopsy done, probably sometimes during the next week, but I don't know when the results will be ready.

Hi there Rubi,

Welcome to our SkinCell cyber family. Smiley

I've had a couple of biopsies and like Sha found them to be a little uncomfortable, but not much, and they really are worth having.

Hope to see you posting and joining in with us all around our boards.

Good luck with the biopsy, and get your husband to read some of the info on PLEVA so that he can understand it better and give you more support. Hug

Good for you for having your biopsy done!  I hope it doesn't cause you pain.  Please let us know when you get the results.  Take care of yourself.
