hey.  I've had Psoriasis for about 6 months now.
I'm 20, and don't usually let it affect me, I still wear vest tops etc however recently my skin has got a lot worse and people have been commenting on it.  So I'm here to try and get tips on treatments etc.

Hi there Hiya Copperfungus and welcome to Skincell!
I don't have psoriasis but quite a few people do, should think they'll be along soon.  Hugs

Hi Alanah, welcome to SkinCell, sorry to hear you're flaring Hugs
Firstly, have you been back to the doctors since you started flaring? Maybe they can prescribe some meds or even get you refered to a dermatologist if things are really bad. Some things that I've found help me personally are changing my diet (eating more veg), when I'm showering/bathing I don't use really hot water, that makes it go redder, and using heavy duty moisturiser straight after washing. Another major factor (for me at least) is stress, which I find be the main trigger for flaring up, so I try not to let things get to me.
I hope some of this helps you! Smiley You've made a good move coming to this forum anyhow, keep posting! Take care.

Hi Alanah and welcome to skincell....I hope you manage to pick up some tips.....
I only use dove soap and nivea moisturiser on my skin and it has been working pretty good for me,The thing is, what works for one might not for another....So it can be a lot of trial and error..

Hi there Alanah,

Welcome to our SkinCell cyber family. Smiley

The tips you've been given so far are good ones, especially about not using hot water and using plenty of moisturiser. Nod

Have you seen a derm yet?  If not then I suggest you ask your doctor for a referral to one asap as derms are specialists and do know tons more that general doctors.

Looking forward to reading more of your posts all around our cyber home and getting to know you better. Smiley
