My wife has leg lesions  on her legs that itch terribly, would I be totally out of line to post a link to pictures so you guys could look at them and possibly tell us what they might be?
She has been to the doctor and he is stumped. She has taken many perscription medications with no help. I have scoured the web and can find nothing looking like them listed.

     Hi there
Jyro,
Welcome to Skincell!  Sorry to hear about your wifes legs.  Sad Yes, you can post pictures on the forum of the lesions.  I'm sure someone will be able to recognize what it is, or what it resembles.  You came to the right place.  This is a great Forum.  Good Luck!  I hope your wife gets better soon.   Big Hug to your wife.

This came up all at once on both legs, the doctors say stress causes it. 6 months with no relief.

That looks similar to what i get, but the patches are not as big. I've had them for years and it seems like E45 and UVB keeps mine at bay (but barely).

What is E45?  and is UVB ultraviolet bulb?

I go for UVB treatment three times a week at the hospital, this is why you should get your wife an appoinment with the derm as they will arange it for her if it IS what she needs. E45 is a moisteriser this is very good for both psirosis and ezcema so i would get some of that in for ur wife to try anyway.....UVB is like a sun bulb but I wouldnt try to treat myself with it, they will work out the correct dose for your wifes needs.....if she needs that at all. I hope this helps abit!

Hiya Jyro,

That certainly looks like plaque psoriasis to me too Thumbs up

Have a look at http://www.skincell.org/plaque_psoriasis.shtml for more info and treatments.
It;s no great shock that your Doc doesn't know what it is - many are not very well informed yet still make judgemets about something they know little about.

She has seen a Derm many times for this, he took a biopsy (sp) and left her with stiches on the other leg. She has had  a series of cortizone injections around one site on the other leg with some good results. Between the constant itching and being ashamed to show her legs and loving the sun ,she is really tired of not being able to be rid of this afflection. Where is science when you need it?

Yeah UVB is ultraviolent light B.

E45 is PH neutral cream which helps stopping the skin from drying out.
