As we seem to be undecided on where would be best for our UK Rash Bashes, maybe we could sort out which end of the country would be best in late spring mid autumn?

Then hopefully we can sort out exactly where we want to hold both RB's this year at least.

We can make both, I think with membership and to be fair, two a year would be more sensible.

i agree, two a year, one north, one south would be a lot fairer as our members are spread throughout UK. At least it gives each member a chance to make at least one rash bash.  Smiley

Huh I am going to do my usual here. I would love to come but cant make any promises so I wont get involved with the decisions, just show up if I can make it  Smiley

Just a little thought...

as some of you may have seen, I have just booked a holiday/mini break with Haven. Maybe for next year we can look into that. They have facilities for Disabled and plenty for kids to do if we wanted to make it a family rash. Prices in April start around £55 (total, not each) for Friday through Sunday for a decent caravan (posh mobile homes that sleep up to six) So...its cheap as chips, and as you prob know, there are bars, restaurants etc all on site.  Smiley I'll let you know if its nice  Wink We have chosen Wales but they have places all around the country. including up in Scotland and down in Devon/Cornwall

I just knew I'd made a mistake giving a 'both' option. Roll Eyes Wink

CP please do let us know if Haven is as good as it says it is?  Also have a great holiday you all deserve it. Hug

I'm not sure about looking at the Wales one though, as last time Wales was suggested not everyone found it an easy place to get to for a weekend, maybe one of the other places would be best?  Has anyone been to one of them in Devon or Cornwall before and if so how good are they?  I think having a family bash once a year is a great idea and then one just for the adults maybe. Undecided

Mikey - Summer is a no-no for a lot of people as during school holidays the prices shoot up sky high, which is why I suggested early June. As it would be for just the weekend only (Fri - Sun) would you be able to travel then?  Also Mikey how far north would you be able to make fairly easily?

Karen F - Could I also ask you how far north you'd be able to travel? I should have directed this question to all our members that live south of London really, so would appreciate some input from the southerners please.

I'd suggest that we do the same as last year and make it the first weekend of June. This seems to be a time when accommodation isn't too expensive and the weather isn't too bad as well. Also if we make it a set time each year the people who need to book a day off work can make their plans early.

For the other bash how about if we make it the first weekend in October?  Once again the weather isn't usually too bad to travel at that time (hopefully) and prices are within reason. Of course having set dates each year would also mean that maybe some of our members from over the pond or across the channel would also be able to make it sometime.  Crossed Fingers

Val, I think Birmingham is probably my best bet... I'm poor and can only afford to travel by wheelbarrow.

I go on holiday on end of May,So would not be able to make the first week in June,But I like the idea of haviing it the same time every year as it will make it easier to plan in the future.
Please do not offer to change the date for me, as I dont know where I will be prior to that,So the chances of me making it even if changed would be pretty slim....

With respect to every member, i think where ever the venue is that we choose to hold the rash bash, someone wont be able to make it. Unfortunately, UK is a big country and we're spread out. If its held in Blackpool for example, Pete and i would find it hard to go because of distance...if its held down south, members up north would find it hard to get to...sadly its hard to cater for everyone. Which is why a decision needs to be made NOW on a venue and date for maybe a North & South rash bash or somewhere in the middle. By the time we try and cater for everyone, the year will be over! obviously we need to try and be as fair as possible to give people the chance to arrange travel and accomodation but with a little organisation, two rash bashes a year isnt impossible and gives members the chance to at least try and attend one, whichever is more convenient to where they live.

sorry to be blunt but if we really are serious about holding a rash bash this year...we need to get it organised.

Yes for those of us with cars it is I agree Rosie. Nod

But according to the feedback we got before RB1 Wales isn't as easy to get to as Devon by public transport. At that time Wales was suggested by Peter and myself as Peter will confirm.
